RAVSAK Welcomes New Schools to JCAT: Jewish Court of All Time

♦ by admsh

CAT, RAVSAK’s online, highly participatory middle school program in Jewish history, will have four new schools taking part in the fall:

  • Addlestone Hebrew Academy (Charleston, South Carolina)
  • Austin Jewish Academy (Austin, Texas)
  • Donna Klein Jewish Academy (Boca Raton, Florida)
  • Hillel School of Tampa (Tampa, Florida)

They join the following schools who are continuing from this past year:

  • Abraham Joshua Heschel Day School (Northridge, California)
  • B’nai Shalom Day School (Greensboro, North Carolina)
  • David Posnack Hebrew Day School (Davie, Florida)
  • El Paso Jewish Academy (El Paso, Texas)
  • Jewish Day School of Metropolitan Seattle (Bellevue, Washington)
  • N. E. Miles Jewish Day School (Birmingham, Alabama)
  • Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day School (Toronto, Ontario)
  • Rockwern Academy (Cincinnati, Ohio)

Teachers from the new schools are flying to Ann Arbor, Michigan, on June 5-6 for a training led by professors at the University of Michigan, including not only becoming familiar with the online platform but also classroom exercises and materials that bring historical characters and issues to life. Faculty from the University of Cincinnati will introduce participants to the discussion of reflective practices that takes place concurrently with the student program in the fall. The entire program is funded by a grant from the Covenant Foundation. If you would like your school to join JCAT in 2012-13, contact Dr. Elliott Rabin at erabin@ravsak.org. ♦
